If you’ve ever looked at a silhouette in the blue and wanted to explore what lies inside, the PADI Wreck Diver course in Eilat is your gateway.
Why Dive Wrecks in Eilat?
Eilat offers some of the most accessible and iconic wreck diving in the Red Sea. From the famous Satil (Missile Boat), sitting perfectly upright at 24 meters, to the massive Yatush and the newer Sun Boat, Eilat provides the perfect classroom. With crystal clear visibility and minimal currents, you can focus on mastering your skills while surrounded by vibrant marine life.
What You Will Learn
Wreck diving requires more than just curiosity; it requires specialized techniques to ensure safety and protect the environment. During this course, you will cover:
* Safety & Navigation: Learn to navigate outside and around a wreck without losing your orientation.
* Specialized Equipment: Get hands-on experience with reels, lines, and high-powered dive lights.
* Penetration Techniques: Practice the art of entering a wreck (within the light zone) while avoiding hazards like silt-outs or sharp edges.
* Wreck Research: Understand the history behind the vessels you explore.

The course typically spans 2 days and includes 4 open water dives.
We maintain small group sizes to ensure personalized attention and the highest safety standards
Beyond the Rust and Steel
Beyond the thrill of exploration, wrecks in Eilat are hubs for biodiversity. You’ll often find giant Moray eels hiding in the pipes, schools of glassfish filling the hulls, and soft corals blooming on the railings. It’s a photographer’s paradise and a historian’s dream.
Are You Ready to Explore?
Don't just swim past history—dive into it. The shadows of the Red Sea are waiting to tell their stories.
The Legend of the Satil: Eilat’s Most Iconic Dive
No Wreck Diver course in Eilat is complete without exploring the INS Sufa, more commonly known as the Satil. This 45-meter long Saar 3-class missile boat has a history as dramatic as its underwater silhouette.
A Dash for Freedom
The Satil’s story begins with the "Cherbourg Project." In 1969, due to a French arms embargo, the Israeli Navy executed a daring, clandestine operation to "smuggle" their own purchased missile boats out of the French port of Cherbourg. The Sufa was one of those legendary vessels that braved stormy winter seas to reach Israel.
From Warship to Reef
After years of service, the ship was intentionally scuttled in 1994 to create an artificial reef and a site for divers. Today, it sits perfectly upright, about 70 meters from the shore at a depth of 24 meters.
What You’ll See on the Satil:
* The Bridge & Tower: Rise up to 18 meters, offering a perfect spot for your safety stop while watching the sunlight dance through the structure.
* The Missile Launchers: Still visible and now encrusted with colorful sponges and soft corals.
* The Engine Room & Corridors: During your penetration dives, you’ll navigate the same halls once paced by naval officers, now home to schools of Lionfish and the occasional Octopus.
Why Train on the Satil?
The Satil is arguably the best "teaching wreck" in the world. Because it sits upright and is so close to shore, it allows students to practice reel work and penetration lines in a controlled, predictable environment before heading to more complex sites.
